How does a dry hire bar work?
You purchase the alcohol yourself and Buzz'd provides everything else: the licensed bartender, the bar setup, the equipment, the insurance and the service. Before the event you get a 1:1 Zoom planning call and a complete shopping list so you know exactly what to buy, how much, and when to have it delivered.
Can they serve liquor at my venue?
It depends where the event is. Indiana treats a third-party venue such as an event hall, barn, brewery or park as a public space, and at those venues service is limited to beer, wine and champagne. At a private residence you can supply spirits, and their Signature Mixer Package (from $2 per person) adds a custom cocktail menu built around them. Their ATC temporary permit is a beer and wine permit, so confirm your venue type with them early.
What does the Royal Hive Event Package include and what does it cost?

Do they handle the Indiana ATC permit?
Yes, and it is included in the package. Buzz'd files the Indiana ATC temporary beer and wine permit through the state portal and coordinates the signature order, local law enforcement first and then the Indiana State Excise Police. Filing has to happen at least five full business days out, so they ask for venue information at least 15 days ahead. Inside 14 days there is a $75 rush fee. A private residence where guests are not charged for drinks generally does not need a permit at all.
Are the bartenders licensed and insured?
Every bartender holds a valid Indiana ATC server or employee permit, either the unrestricted three-year permit or an event-specific one, and the business carries liquor liability insurance as part of the package. Note this is per-bartender state permitting rather than a business liquor license, which is why the client supplies the alcohol.
How far in advance should I book?
They recommend at least 30 days, and 60 to 90 days in peak season from May through October. The hard floor is set by the permit: venue information at least 15 days out so filing can happen five full business days before the event. Bookings are confirmed with a signed agreement and a 50 percent non-refundable retainer, and they accept cards but not cash.
